Shitty Night.....

So last night Brian and I got home from looking at new cars, which was a bust L, hoping to have a quiet night (as much as you can with 3 kids). Earlier in the day Brian had to take the toilet off the pipe in our bathroom because we had a clog somewhere which was leading to the toilets not flushing right and stuff to come up in the bathtubs/showers. This all started the week of the Super Bowl when Curtis said he had put a lot of toilet paper down the toilet. We plunged it and thought everything was fine. On Super Bowl Sunday Curtis kept trying to flush the toilet but it wasn’t working. We thought that it was just him doing it too fast.

So any ways Brian had thought he had it fixed. Well guess it wasn’t. We are sitting in the living room and hear the bubbles in the bathroom followed by Nathan yelling, “Dad there is stuff coming up in the bathtub!” At this point we have to go down into the basement and open up the pipe leading to the septic. I try to help Brian so he doesn’t have to do it all on his own. This is where is gets interesting, and sorry for the TMI. We are letting the water leak out slowly so we can hold the bucket up to it and not get it on us or the basement floor (Thank goodness we don’t have the carpet down yet). It was taking a long time so we decided to open it up a little more. Brian warned me that it would have a lot of pressure once it got so far open. Boy was he right. All of a sudden it comes off and I panic. Needless to say we both got covered. On top of that Tori is ready for a bottle and I can’t even wash my hands to grab her. I went up stairs and used baby wipes and a crap ton of hand sanitizer and grabbed her right before she got into the mess. Ran back up stairs and called my parents (Thank goodness they live 10 minutes from us and where there in no time) so they could watch her and keep the boys out of our hair so we could finish the job. We couldn’t see anything in the pipe so Brian had to go take off the toilet in the boys’ bathroom (he thinks he pushed the block to the V there). All of a sudden I hear running water and more water is coming through the open pipe downstairs. Needless to say I got more on me. Brian then ran the snake down the pipe and we think we now have whatever was blocked pushed through. We were able to take a shower last night but the one toilet is still not hooked back up because brian has to cut the bolts. So the real test will be tonight when Brian does a load of laundry when he gets out of work. Pray it works!
